There have been many documentaries & books made in the attempt to answer the question “Who Is Jesus?” from a historical perspective. But in contrast, few have answered that question from a relational perspective. During this series, we will explore “the Son of Man” and who He was as He encountered the people He loved.
When you woke up this morning, God had a hope for you and your life. This hope is based upon your identity as His beloved. Our identity is founded in Christ as recipients of His transforming love. God’s hope is that we might first receive His love and then share His love with those around us.

We all have a soundtrack of life. Songs that elicit a variety of different emotions. Songs that take us back to places of great freedom, celebrations or even deep sadness. This message discusses God’s song and how you and I can join Him in singing it together.

“Where is God?” “In Pastor Ed Young’s book, The Ten Commandments of Marriage he writes, “Marriage exposes and reveals who we really are.” During this series we will expose the “covenant killers” in marriage and lead you to vulnerably answer the question “What is it like being married to me?” with the hope of discovering what God desires to transform in your marriage.
“Where is God?” “Being a parent is one of the most demanding and delicate roles we will ever have on this earth. Unfortunately, it is also the responsibility that the majority of us are the most ill-equipped to fulfill. During this series we hope to speak to the areas that seem to give us the most trouble and provide encouragement and truth to be able to walk through it with grace.
“Where is God?” “Why doesn’t God answer my prayer?” “Sometimes I don’t even feel like God cares.” Common questions and statements from people in the midst of living the everyday life. It is our hope in this series to tackle these and other concerns people have about where God is, what He’s up to, why He’s up to it and where you, His son or daughter, fits in the midst of it.
One of the greatest threats to God’s church is routine. Routine then gives way to boredom. Boredom and an unexamined life is a deadly combination. People’s flaws become more obvious, conflict and hurt is left unaddressed and then before you know it…all hell breaks loose, literally. This message provides some “friendly” reminders, warnings and challenges to doing life together as a collection of God’s people.
Sticks & Stones. As kids, we often recited the children’s chant, “Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me” Of course we all know this is a lie. Not only do words hurt, but of course so do actions. Many of us do not really experience Jesus’ Revolutionary Love because we are not free from the hurt, pain and anger of our childhood to do so. This message desires to prompt people to seek healing from past and/or current hurt.

Many mothers seem to struggle with the expectations of being a mom. This message is from the heart of mom to moms with the hope to encourage mothers as they endeavor to “Leave a Legacy”

We are going to examne the status of the Church and are we doing everything that Jesus would want us to do?
All of us know people who “appear” to be God followers because of their church attendance, scripture quotes, even their “churchy” language. Super Christians. During this series we will spend some time looking at what God really wants from us. Walking with God is more than a list of rules to check off. It is a journey of challenge for the heart.
Do people expect the church to be excellent at service, programs, creative arts, teaching or even relationships? Is there a biblical basis for God’s people to excel at life? The better question might be, does God deserve and/or expect the very best of His representatives on this earth as they endeavor to carry out His purposes? At LifePointe, we believe the answer to all of these questions is yes. This series endeavors to reveal how to do just that.
Aren’t there times when we believe if God would just give us this or that, then we would be happy? And then when He doesn’t give us what we want, we may begin to think He doesn’t care. This message hopes to bring a clearer & larger perspective to our requests.

Heroes. We thought it was fitting to look at the ultimate hero Jesus Christ. Today in our society people are looking for hope. Jesus Christ is the hope of the world.
The Past. Everyone has one. As we celebrate the present and prepare for the future, let us not dismiss the past without reconcilling it. There are healthy and unhealthy perspectives of the past. What role does the past play in our church and in our individual lives? What is God's perspective of our past?
Jesus Christ was able to do and experience a whole lot in 24 hours.
In this series, we will look at a day in the life of Jesus so hopefully we can understand the things that Christ was able to do and how he affected the people around him. Hopefully understanding this truth, will help us in our daily walk.
Far too often, as God followers, we find ourselves recommitting our lives to Christ, failing again, confessing, recommitting, failing, and confessing. We get stuck in a cycle of discouragement and begin to wonder if this is all there is to the Christian life. We were told there was something exciting, we were told that our life could be extraordinary, but yet for many, they've never known that promise. They've never experienced that victory. They've only known defeat hyphenated with brief moments of emotional surges, but not real, lasting change.
God promises it, other people experience it, why don't I? |
"Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of rightousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace."
Ephesians 6:10-15 |
There is nothing inherently bad about emotions, but we have the potential to bring harm into our lives and into the lives of others when we don't manage our emotions wisely.
"A sound mind makes for a robust body, but runaway emotions corrode the bones."
Proverbs 14:30 |
Many of us have a fundamental flaw in how we perceive our relationship with Christ. We have flawed expectations of God, a flawed understanding of how He works in our lives, and we also have a flawed sense of ourselves.
Rather than submitting ourselves to Christ and his Agenda, we often, and without realizing it, expect God to advance and fulfill our Agenda. |
The cultural phenomenon of reality shows is somewhat perplexing. Although there are a few that display great moments of human compassion and achievement, most diplay mankind at their worst. Reality shows often reveal who people "really" are as a result of circumstances. Everyone encounters temptations, tests and trials. We all are the same in that respect. How we differ is our response. These "circumstances" are opportunities for us and others to see who we "really" are. It is God's desire that we respond in accordance with His character, not our own. Everyday we live is our very own reality show. |
